Little Liberia
Founded by Chef Ameneh Marhaba as a pop-up in 2016, Little Liberia transitioned to a permanent brick-and-mortar on Detroit’s East Warren Corridor in March 2026. The restaurant presents traditional Liberian flavors rooted in West African culinary traditions, with a menu of beef, goat, seafood, and thoughtfully crafted vegan dishes, plus a cocktail program featuring both alcoholic and non-alcoholic offerings.
Why it stands out: Michigan’s first Liberian restaurant, built from a decade-long pop-up into a permanent cultural institution.
